Kolkata has gained a remarkable new cultural destination with the launch of LEGEND AND LEGACY CAFE, a heritage hub and café housed within a part of the residence of legendary singer, composer and actor Pankaj Mullick, near Hazra Road in Ballygunge.
The nearly century-old building, designed in elegant Art Deco style, stands as a testament to the city’s rich cultural past. The name “Legend and Legacy” pays homage to Pankaj Mullick as the “Legend”, while the “Legacy” reflects the continued efforts of his family to preserve and promote his invaluable contributions.
What the cafe offers
At its heart lies a full-fledged in-house café offering delectable, pocket-friendly multi-cuisine fare and an array of hot and cold brews. A specially curated section of the menu will feature Pankaj Mullick’s favourite dishes. The space promises a serene yet vibrant ambience, blending nostalgia with modern comforts such as free Wi-Fi and curated entertainment.

A living cultural space
Supported by the Pankaj Mullick Music and Art Foundation, founded in 2005 by Rajib Gupta and Jhinuk Gupta, the hub will host regular workshops, events and cultural programmes, alongside exclusive merchandise.
